Jeremy Barlow R.O.I.
ONE-MAN EXHIBITION FEATURING EIGHTY NEW OILS INSPIRED
BY THE ARTIST’S RECENT TOURS OF FRANCE AND ITALY

The luminous light and relaxed lifestyle of the Mediterranean are brilliantly captured in this spectacular collection of paintings by one of Britain’s most acclaimed landscape artists. Jeremy Barlow takes us on a tour of France, Spain and Italy in which the unique flavour of each location is depicted by observing the activities of people in their less formal everyday moments – congregating in cafés and restaurants, browsing in bookshops, strolling along winding back streets, chatting in doorways or simply sitting watching the world go by.

In preparing for this exhibition, Jeremy travelled extensively in France, stopping to paint in Paris, Tours and Lyons before spending several weeks painting the picturesque towns and villages of Provence and the regions around St Tropez and Pezenas. In Italy, Jeremy’s itinerary took him to Venice, Verona, San Gimignano, Sienna and Lucca, and then on to Naples. This exhibition also includes a number of paintings of Barcelona, Seville and Granada – together with a series of English landscapes inspired by the North Yorkshire and Norfolk countryside.

A leading member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Jeremy Barlow has exhibited annually at Llewellyn Alexander since 1989.
